Who: Betty Botox

What: As one half of the Glasgow DJ team Optimo, Betty Botox knows exactly how to get you sweating with some incredibly classic funk and soul re-edits. Perhaps the best of those re-edits is this take on “Going Back To My Roots” by Richie Havens. Not much had to be changed – Richie was funky as hell. But throw in some strong kick, a little back, dancing piano, and some thick fudge basslines, and its not hard to come together with some true vintage disco-funk sounds like these.
