What: The process of remixing a song like Chromeo’s newest single “Night By Night”, the duo’s first original song since 2007, tends to push songs in wildly different directions. The original version of is so layered, relative, and complex that remixers interpret different cues and run with them, giving us handfuls of remixes that sound almost completely unrelated. But Siriusmo stepped back a bit and crafted this 2-part mix that buries the needle in both ends of the spectrum, and it still works absolutely perfectly. It bends the more delicate and violent undertones of a track like this, and it reminds us what remixing is all about. Despite the conflicting sounds, Siriusmo pulls it off with some nasty style.
