Who: Paul White

What: It’s been awhile since I’ve picked up a record like this… with all the crazy music we get to check out every day its nice to get grounded once in a while. The Strange Dreams of Paul White is nothing but woozy, psychadelic, sample-based instrumental hip hop  beats. You can feel out some of the J Dilla influence right away, might even catch a little DJ Shadow in there. Either way Paul White is an absolute ace in the studio, take a look at the full album album on iTunes here. If you’re really feeling it go ahead and check out Onra who dropped “Chinoiseries” a while back – collected most of his samples from vintage Vietnamese pop records. That shit will blow your head smooth off.
